Former Mississippi Valley State receiver Paul Cox has signed a deal to play with the Utah Blaze of the Arena Football League.

The Patterson, La. native most recently played with the Delta Devils in 2011 when he led the team with 38 receptions for 641 yards and three touchdowns. Following his career at Valley, Cox signed an undrafted free agent deal with the San Diego Chargers before joining the Pittsburgh Steelers during the 2012 preseason.

Cox finished his career at MVSU with 92 catches for 1,701 yards and 13 touchdowns.

The Blaze are scheduled to open its season March 23.
